Discharging from hospital doesn’t mean the end of the procedure and getting the desired outcome.

- You shouldn’t eat anything for a few hours after surgery and then you can start drinking water and fluids with your nurse’s permission.
- Your bed should be completely flat for 24 hours and your head should be completely low and motionless.
- After surgery you will have an appointment with the hospital physiotherapist and he/she will give you a comprehensive plan for the time that you stay in hospital and also when you return to your country.
- You will experience post-operative pain for several days after surgery that is completely controllable and you shouldn’t be worry about that. In addition to the painkillers prescribed to control your pain, anticoagulants will be given to decrease the risk of embolism. Your bandage will be changed regularly and after a few days they will take photos of you to make sure that the new joints are in a good condition and then you will be discharged from the hospital.
