Iran (official name Islamic Republic of Iran) is a country situated in south west of Asia, Middle East.  Capital of Iran is Tehran, which is the biggest and most populous city of it. Tehran is the cultural, economic, political and administrative center of Iran. Iran has a rich cultural heritage in a way that it has 19 World Heritage in UNESCO (4th in Asia and 12th in the world). The word of Iran has come from the word “Aryanam Khashatram” in ancient Persian meaning “the land of Aryans” which converted into Iran over time.

According to an estimate in 2011 which was published in world Encyclopedia, 99.4 per cent of Iranians are Muslim (90-95 per cent Shia and 5-10 per cent Sunni), 0.3 per cent Christian, Jewish and Zoroastrian and 0.4 per cent were undetermined. According to Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran, women are required to wear their hair in public and consuming alcoholic drinks are forbidden.

In Iran, transportation can take many forms. In touristic cities, there are international airports. However, all important cities of Iran have airports which can be a good option for domestic flights. Besides, you can use trains for travelling.
